Whether you’re looking for a Wedding Photographer, Commercial Photographer or Children’s Photographer, you should always do your homework and research as much as you can.

Start by looking at the website. If you like what you see, call the photographer and if you feel comfortable, ask him for contact details of some of his clients. Always make sure you are speaking to the people you think you are speaking to by asking questions about the day and what they thought of the photographer, what they thought of the way they worked etc. Always try to get more than one contact. If you still like what you saw and heard, try to get some information on the photographer’s background. One of the most important factors is how long they have been in the industry. You can also find out a lot by going to meet the photographer in person. It’s important you like their personality, that you feel comfortable in their presence and feel like you can trust them to do a great job.

Also if you do go to meet the photographer in person, do look around their office/studio. If it looks amateurish, then I doubt their work will be much better. Try to look out for photographs, albums or anything like that as that could be a sign of how busy they get, although how busy a photographer is doesn’t always reflect their standard of work. Its amazing how some low standard photographers get work from great search engine optimizations - Top of Google etc.

Sometimes I do get a potential client of mine, who says they like my work, but they can get the same elsewhere, but cheaper. I always say to them, if they mind giving me the other Photographers name and website and explain, that if they are anywhere near as good as me (not trying to sound big headed here), then I will see if I can match or beat the price.

I can honestly say that if I thought they were good and the price was cheaper than mine, and there was no way I could match it, then I would say the same to my potential client and wish them all the best. Unfortunately (or I should say fortunately for me) that doesn’t really happen. If someone is cheaper than me, it’s because their work is nowhere near as good a mine and that comes from the bottom of my heart. Not many photographers at the age of 38 have 20 years experience running their own photography business.

Christmas has come and gone and New Year is just round the corner. I would like to thank everyone for their support and their business in 2010 and have to say what an amazing year that’s been and look forward to what 2011 brings.

A special thanks to Moira at Jungle Gyms mother and toddler group for all her help and loyalty and to Monkies Playgroup for rebooking me and to all at Ashford Bridge House Preschool for having faith in me to book me on for the first time this year and rebooking for the summer.

Not forgetting:-

CPA- Colins Performing Arts, Monkeys, Horndon Village Playgroup, My Little Angels, 21st Century Playgroup, Woodham Mortimer Village Hall, Butterfly Club, Orsett Village Hall, Trinity Preschool, Mawney Preschool, Little Friends in New Eltham, Little Stars, Allsorts, St. Micheals Church Main Road Romford, Launch Pad Preschool in Ingatestone, Robert Beard, Sunbeams Preschool, Early Years Acadamy Foundation for learning, Ellen Wilkenson Chustnut Nursery School and to all the happy Brides and bride grooms i have photographed and to all the customers that came to my studio.

There are to many to mention but not to say i am not grateful to you all.

I have bought the new main camera and am still getting use to it but already I can see the difference it makes. The photographs are so much sharper and the colours are amazing. Also as my business is growing I am planning to expand and already started to move my office to a bigger one.

Once again I’d like to thank everyone and look forward to seeing you in 2011

The setting for the photography was perfect - at the house, church and at the reception. The reception was at the grooms parents lovely house with a marquee in there fantastic garden. They were a really nice couple and they were very happy with their story book album and their 26”x30” canvas they ordered. Some of the photography comprised of great shots of the children on the day and they have now rebooked me for a Christening in November. I wish them all the very best of luck for the future!.

I have been working together with many playgroups for years and they normally require my services twice a year. Once in the summer and once before Christmas.

From about October right up to December all my regular playgroups want to have their finished photographs in before Christmas as most people buy extra photos, frames or anything else I supply as a present for someone, therefore I have 3 months of mainly that.

All my photographs for playgroups are airbrushed, repositioned, color corrected and put into mounts. I don’t compromise on the quality, it is the same as a studio or home sitting.

I am really looking forward to Christmas now, I have been working 80 to 90 hour weeks and i cant wait for a little break and family time.
