Digital Photography

On one hand, digital photography is great and has taken photography to the next level. The images are sharper, the colors are amazing and it’s definitely easier to make a decent photograph.

On the other hand, because it’s easier, people think they can fake it and get away with it. As I have mentioned previously, there is so many so called professional photographers out there who make people believe, they’ve done photography for years, are good at it and charge very little.

This is all very well until lets say you book them for a wedding (no place for errors) and when you see the photographs for the first time and realize that that’s nowhere near the quality you’ve expected. Unfortunately for the client, it’s all a bit late as you won’t be able to do it again (unless you get married again).

Then even a full refund of your money wouldn’t make it right. Here you see why I put so much of my effort into advising you about “You get what you pay for”. Do keep this in mind when choosing your next photographer.

About Photography as a business

The times when people thought Photography was just a hobby are well and truly gone. In today’s world the technology is amazing and options are endless. Despite technology changing and making it easier for people to make good quality photos, people will never be able to produce the same quality and capture the same moment as Professional Photographer can, and that’s a fact. Unless of course, you are a natural and have the skills and the eye for it.

As well as the Technology changing, the standards and the ways of taking Photographs change with it. Do you remember not that long ago when we used to only have photographs in black and white? What about films in cameras? Everyone remembers those, right? My late father used to have his own studio too and I remember him spending most of his time there, developing his own photos. I remember all those chemicals everywhere (It wouldn’t pass Health and Safety now) and all those chemicals all over him.

Also now days people appreciate good Photography more than they used to. There is loads of Photographers out there and loads of franchise Studios. Some are good, some average and some are plain ugly. Also you will find prices vary and the differences in prices can be sky high. Always remember that franchise and high street Studios will be more expensive than the small Photographic Studios. By paying higher price doesn’t mean you will get a better deal. Not only you don’t pay for the quality, but you also pay their rents or the name. Also you will most likely get better service and after care in a smaller company.

To make the story short, you wouldn’t buy badly unprofessionally made furniture to put in your house, and with photography and framed photos etc is the same. Get a professional. Check out www.rossholdinphotography.com <http://www.rossholdinphotography.com/>

Photography

Photography is all around us. Even when watching tv, you will find photography there. Keep in mind that there is different types of Photography. For example still Photography you can see in movies, wedding, fashion, baby photography, portraits, studio, location, commercial, paparazzi etc. There is so much more to photography than most people think there is.

My name is Sarka and I have now started working for Ross full time. I went along with Ross to my first ever wedding to train. I thought how hard can it be to take photographs throughout the service. Well let me tell you, it’s not easy. Not only that you can’t just keep snapping away, you have to be imaginative, have quite steady hand and be quick enough to capture all the important moments, organizing people and so on. Even tho Ross was still the photographer and I was in the background, I tried hard to make good photographs to prove, it isn’t hard.

Well, this was a smallish wedding and after about an hour of photographing what i thought was worth photographing, I have run out of ideas. I don’t have to tell you, that not a single photograph of mine has been sold and I did try really hard. When I compared my photos to Ross’s I could see the difference very clearly (I don’t like to admit this to Ross tho). That goes to show, you need more than a good camera to call yourself a photographer.

Thanks for your time and see you soon.
